This page provides a summary of the resources available to support the learning needs around mental health, self-harm and suicide prevention of the education workforce. It is aimed at practitioners, learning and development leads, as well as individual staff who are working in all sectors in Scotland.

This is an Education Scotland website that contains a comprehensive range of resources to help staff in education settings to undertake safeguarding activities to address self-harm and prevent suicide in children and young people.

Training model:

These are mainly non-interactive resources to enhance staff knowledge and understanding and provide advice about potentially helpful approaches. There are also facilitation packages available with some of the resources at the Informed and Skilled levels of practice. The facilitation package will help to support the delivery of workshops and local delivery via a digital platform. These packages provide the opportunity to deliver structured interactive sessions, providing the opportunity to explore issues further, either as a team and/or across different sectors.

Staff capacity and time commitment:

Staff can engage with these resources as much or as little as needed.
