How to use the Digital Learning Map
There are two main ways of searching for useful resources:
1. Search the Resources A-Z page using resource name
2. Use the Resources Search page to search by filters
a. Practice level (Informed, Skilled, or Enhanced)
b. Using content of dimensions and subdimensions.
The Professional Learning resources included in the Digital Learning Map will each potentially cover several dimensions, and within that, several subdimensions. For example, staff will be able to search for training resources by their name, e.g., ‘Sowing Seeds,’ or by their Practice Level, e.g., for Sowing Seeds, ‘Informed’ level, and / or by Dimension: 1. Child Development and Attachment as well as via Sub-Dimensions, e.g., Impact of Trauma and Adversity on Attachments and Development. Please note, that most resources cover a range of topics in more or less depth. What is mapped here is the primary focus of the learning resource.
The Digital Learning Map is intended to help staff enhance their knowledge and skills about children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing in a graded manner. As a general rule, staff should work their way up the practice levels, e.g., have completed all resources on a topic at the Informed Level before moving on to the Skilled Level resources on that topic. Staff who have covered the Informed level resources are encouraged to reflect on the skills they need, in their job role, to meet the mental health and wellbeing needs of the children and young people they work with using learning logs. Once gaps are identified, the Digital Learning Map can be used to identify resources that will progress that staff member’s knowledge and skills.
