Case Example
Let’s Introduce Anxiety Management (LIAM):
The NES Let’s Introduce Anxiety Management (LIAM) Training is a good example of the Kirkpatrick Model in practice.
Impact Assessment:
- Workshop Evaluation Forms completed at the end of training
- Knowledge and Confidence ratings against Intended Learning Outcomes are obtained from staff pre and post training. Learning is also checked and consolidated during coaching sessions using, e.g., reflective practice sheets
- Coaching sessions allow the development of skills via role-play, sharing examples of good practice, reviews of videoed sessions,
- Questback surveys are sent periodically to the LIAM delivery staff to check they are using the LIAM principles in sessions with young people as well as part of their usual practice. We also ask about the quality of the coaching offered and their satisfaction with this
- Clinical routine outcome measures are obtained from children and young people before and after LIAM intervention. These are sent into NES who collate and analyse these data. This shows us that LIAM makes the intended difference to the children and young people who receive it
